All the makeup in the world won't help you if you don't first take care of your skin.
Start with a gentle cleanser.
I prefer the Younique Youology cleanser. It comes with 3 boosters that you select to customize it for your skin.
A gentle cleanser is so important for several reasons. You want clean skin, but you don't want to strip all of the natural oils that help your skin maintain it's natural glow and elasticity. A gentle cleanser will give you fresh clean skin without leaving it feeling tight and dry.
Use a targeted serum.
I can not stress enough how much the Younique brightening serum and anti-aging serum have done for me. I was ready to make an appointment with my dermatologist to address my worsening rosacea when I started using these serums. The improvement they have made in my skin is nothing short of amazing. Younique's Youology serum also comes with their signature 3 booster to help target your individual problem areas. This step alone has made the biggest difference in how my skin looks both naked and with makeup on. Don't skip it!
Use an eye cream.
No matter your age, a quality eye cream will save you many wrinkles as time goes by.
I use the Younique Youology eye cream that contains caffeine and peptides to wake up your under eye area. No matter what your choice may be, pampering this delicate skin will pay dividends for years to come.
Moisturize!
Since you have cleansed your skin of the surface dirt, dead skin cells, and yes, even natural skin oils, you need to add some moisture back to protect it. I know many people who have oily skin are afraid to do this because they think that adding a moisturizer will contribute to, or even increase, the oiliness of their skin. This is not the case! Your skin will be protected and nurtured by your moisturizer. Not using on can even increase the oils on your face, because your skin feels dry, so it ramps up oil production to try and protect it!
Finally, use SPF.
Nothing you do will help halt the advance of time for your skin like protecting it from the sun.
I can't stress this enough. Besides adding dark spot, fine lines, and wrinkles to our face, sun damage also causes skin cancer. This subject is near and dear to my heart because I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma when I was only 28 years old. I had been a bit careless in my youth (as a teenager and in my early 20's), but after my first pre-cancer diagnosis at 23 I had been very careful. Unfortunately the damage had already been done. Thankfully it was discovered very early and I have been cancer free for 15 years now. Using SPF is so important, not just for the appearance of your skin, but for your life!
